Since the dawn of (carp fishing) time each angler has developed an unshakeable faith in their go-to carp fishing bait that they swear by. Back in the ‘prehistoric period’ a side-hooked potato might’ve been your weapon of choice but nowadays there are plenty of options to choose from thanks to the evolution of carp fishing but more specifically the rig adaptations and also carp fishing baits.
Enter the Boilie!
Rest in peace sad potato or sloppy cat food mix - the boilie has reigned supreme for well over five decades now. Yeah, yeah we know - there’s still a few Walker inspired anglers out there armed with a cane rod, a jumper that should’ve been thrown out years ago and a distinct whiff of ‘eau-de-bank-tramp’ who prefer the old ways. It’s cool, you do you.
But for the majority of carp anglers the boilie offers a convenience and availability many other carp fishing baits simply cannot match. With this in mind we’ve asked some of our TeamPCF members what they'd recommend as their go-to boilie choice along with a personal best pic.
Straight from the horse's mouth
We could bang on for days about how good our carp boilies are, what’s in them or delve into the science behind each and every ingredient added but we understand that for the majority all you really want to know is ‘does it catch carp?’, scratch that… ‘does it catch fu***ng big carp?’
